| Our Waco NC167K was built in December 1940 and sold to the Civil Aeronautic Administration ( CAA ). The CAA used her in the Civilian Pilot Training Program (CPTP ) in January 1941, providing flight training to college students. After Pearl Harbor,with the United States entering the War the CPTP became the War Training Service ( WTS ) and used NC167K to train cadets for the military |
| In February 1946, the government declared NC167K surplus and she was set up for public sale. NC167K underwent a complete restoration in 1988 of both her airframe and engine. With a regular maintenance program, she will have many more years of reliable service. |
